As we age, various physiological reasons cause those veins to be more visible, and nothing topically applied can do anything for them...so laser treatments that cauterize the blood vessels will diminish them or even remove them. Over time many people will see a recurrence of some of those spider veins...just a physiological issue called aging...

Typically these services will cost an average of $275 and you need to repeat the treatment within a month or 2 for it to be most effective...so plan on $550 minimum. I am using the prices published by Kaiser Permanente Cosmetic Dermatology in San Francisco, CA. The vascular consultation and basic treatment is $175, but at $1 per laser pulse, you can easily get to 100 pulses for the area around the nose....so I just took that as an average.

The treatment is not without it's 'pain' and redness to the skin where the laser cauterizes the blood vessels. It is essential that you wear a mineral sunscreen to protect the skin after the treatment. Mineral sunscreens do not irritate the skin as much as other sunscreens so I never recommend anything else after the skin has already been 'irritated' by laser treatments.
